2021 CMAOntario R2i TuneUp Conference Goes Virtual.

The Country Music Association of Ontario (CMAOntario) is excited to present the 2021 Road To Independence (R2i) TuneUp Conference in a virtual format.Due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, the 2021 R2i Conference will be delivered digitally for attendees to enjoy anywhere, on demand, from the comfort of their homes. While the format is different, the conference continues to feature content and speakers relevant to CMAOntario’s audience and the country music community throughout Ontario.

Presented by Slaight Music, with support from Ontario Creates, the conference offers in-depth discussions and presentations as well as instructional videos geared toward developing artists. Delivered as a seven-week series, two sessions will be posted weekly to the CMAOntario YouTube channel for limited-time access. The series will go live as of today at 7:00pm ET, with the following two episodes launching the series today and Saturday:In The Country host Dave Woods chats with Ontario country artist Jesse Slack about how to maximize playlist exposure on streaming platforms.With 20+ years’ experience as a professional staff songwriter in Nashville, hits with Sara Evans, Jessica Simpson, Lauren Alaina, Carly Pearce and Mickey Guyton, and 3 albums released as a major label artist, country artist Victoria Banks leads this masterclass in lyric writing. She covers the elements of song structure; lyric writing tools, tips and tricks; do’s and don’ts of commercial lyric writing; phrasing, voice, sequence, alliteration, furniture, rhyme and more.
