JUNO Stories from the Studio was held on Thursday, May 27 at 2 p.m. ET online at junoawards.ca/events. JUNO Stories from the Studio PART 1, featured a series of virtual discussions with JUNO Award-nominated engineers, producers, and special guests to get a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process, that gave rise to Canada’s most iconic songs & albums, all hosted by A. Harmony, and she is the interim host of MARVIN’S ROOM on CBC Music and a frequent commentator on the ‘q’ This music panel on CBC Radio One. She is a music journalist and critic whose bylines include Exclaim! Magazine, A.Side, Bustle, and CBC. She also did voice-over work for the 2019 NBA Finals. When not on the air, Harmony is heavily involved in Canada’s music scene, both on stage and behind it. She studied Arts Management at the Harris Institute for the Arts and went on to work in many areas of the music industry from music publishing to the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival. She sits on multiple industry juries including FACTOR and the Polaris Music Prize. Rumour has it she also raps well. This showcase on May 27th featured panelists Dylan Sinclair, who is a Canadian rhythm and blues singer and songwriter from Toronto, Ontario, whose full-length debut album Proverb was a Juno Award nominee for Traditional R&B/Soul Recording of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2021 for Sinclair released his first EP, Red Like Crimson, in 2018. As well, Johann Deterville (YogitheProducer) appeared as well, as artist Jordan Mansell, & Savannah Re, who is a Canadian rhythm and blues singer from Scarborough, Ontario, whose debut EP Opia was released in 2020. . |
