Congrats on your 1st ever Juno affiliated Nomination, Sandor Schwisberg!
Sandor Schwisberg is a multi-instrumentalist playing since the age of 6, who also plays a bit of guitar, drums, and bass. He is a 2016 Humber Jazz Program Graduate (2012-2016) who received the Humber College President’s Medal during graduation, as well, was presented the Brian Harris Memorial Scholarship, and the 2016 Musicounts Fred Sherratt Award Scholarship. Sandor is musically inspired by pianist Keith Jarrett, Brad Mehldau, Michel Camilo, Herbie Hancock, and The Late Chick Corea.
Sandor has never been musically idle since his career began, and currently, he plays keyboards for The Abrams (Warner), Johnny Orlando (Universal), Bowie Lives (Independent), a project called Armenia meets Dominicana (independent). As well, he plays piano for Junior Santos (Independent) among a list of others a little less frequent than those. During the pandemic, he has been doing a lot of online collaboration with producers and friends. “I recently started collabing with a producer named Ikky Singh who runs 4N records, and I also teach from home, and I am actually attending Paramedic school in the fall of 2021!“
Congrats Sandor, on your 1st ever Juno affiliated nod, for being a part of a musical project involving the amazing Junior Santos who is nominated for his 1st Juno in 2021. The nomination is for Jazz Album of the Year SOLO for Junior Santos album composition, Conpambiche, on which Sandor Schwisberg honorably played piano and Rhodes on this outstanding album. A fresh and exciting fusion of Afro-Dominican rhythms with Jazz. Featuring some of Canada’s finest jazz recording artists plus original thrilling compositions that elevate music improvisation, served very well done by master musicians.
