March 11, 2022 Live Music

Canadian-born & Nashville resident rocker, Lukas Rossi, continues to entertain while taking the music world by storm, giving fans a breath of fresh air from their grueling work week considering the state of affairs this world is in. Fans let go, they transform inside the Rossi Posse family who all come to depend on his heart and soulful songs to heal the weary minds and heavy hearts.

I have mentioned this numerous times over that I have never really found an artist today, that is as dedicated to his fans as Lukas Rossi is. Putting in long hours of daily rehearsal time, while writing new songs, releasing new albums, while performing 30-minute sets with a 20-minute encore every single week and sometimes twice a week, all throughout a pandemic, all the while, lending himself to numerous collaborations, while recording, and producing others all inside the same time frame, and he’s a Dad too. His son Bryden made an on-air appearance at last night’s show. Koodos Lukas!!

Right out of the gate, the first time I heard Lukas sing back in Toronto was with his band Cleavage in 1996. Right then and there, I could see that Lukas Rossi was ready for the limelight thanks to his charming smile, versatile and stratospheric vocal range, never-ending stamina, engaging persona, addictive and hypnotic exuberance with a genuine talent that never wanes. His creativity oozes love, embraces our minds, and totally changes the lives of many.

He is an amazing performer with a haunting vocal performance that is so impeccable, you can literally feel his pain as he wears his blood sweat and tears rght upon his sleeve and let me tell you, there was plenty of tears a flowing, even if they were all my tears lol. Lukas campaigns each and every well-crafted musical arrow unleashed from within his in-depth quiver.

Songs are emotionally pristine and passionately mesmerizing. There isn’t a song he can’t do, he intricately weaves together a distinct flavor that’s all his own, unlike another in a dramatically animated presentation, leaving you in awe of his brilliance. He can mold a cover into not just another alternative pop song, he makes sure that you know of its sentimental presence and how highly relatable the depth of its material truly is. Though his songs speak of pain and reminiscing on personal history it carries a definite message of hope that shines right through the dark with an impressive diversity to boot.

Thanks for another flawless execution. This to me, was one of your most compelling to date, deeply and richly infused with intense marbled emotion that ensured tenderness. Your flavors keep getting creamier and creamier Lukas, a superb slice of intoxicating perfection!!

I want to give a special shout-out to the fans, the Rossi Posse. I have never in my life met a more friendly, passionate, and dedicated musical family like this before, so caring, kind, and generous.

I am so not sure why, but feeling really sensitive tonight and every lyric Lukas projected, I cried and the waterworks wouldn’t shut down, as his lyrics speak such truth, just so darn real and raw!

Throughout the years of touring, meeting fans, collaborating, and self-reflection, the urge to do more with his music is higher than ever. “Autonomic” is a record influenced by an “Invisible Illness” called Dysautonomia. This is a condition that compromises a person’s nervous system, impacting almost all areas of their body — all the while looking like healthy people. Lukas recently joined Seventy7 Records. The owner, Amanda Nail’s daughter, Lexi Nail (Seen on Autonomic’s album cover) was diagnosed with Dysautonomia as a teenager. Featured artist ‘Matty Shreds’ also suffers from this condition. After learning how crippling this illness is, Lukas took immediate action to help join those raising awareness. In addition, a portion of the album sales will go to Dysautonomia International, a charity that funds research on Dysautonomia and provides resources for people living with the condition.

The record features many great artists: Dave Buckner (Papa Roach), Marcos Curiel (P.O.D.), Matty Shreds, Sunnie Days, (Solo Artists), and Stereo Satellite! This is just the start of many big things to come!

Degrassi's Spike, Joey, and Caitlyn at Toronto's COMICON.

The Nogojiwanong Indigenous Fringe Festival (NIFF) 2022 will open on Indigenous People's Day, June 21st.
