Three venues + three music sessions = one great night as Canada’s ‘First Family of Fiddlers’ Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy host their very own St. Patrick’s Day virtual event this March 17th!
The party starts at 7:00 pm EST with performances from Natalie and Donnell’s home studio, before joining up with family and friends for more music by way of Donegal, Ireland, and Cape Breton, Nova Scotia — Natalie’s parent’s home.
Among those joining will be Liz Doherty (fiddle), Dermot Byrne (accordion), Gino Lupari (bodhran, vocals), Jim Woods (bodhran, accordion), Mickey Gallianha (guitar, vocals), Natalie’s nephew Joe MacMaster (fiddle), Natalie’s cousin Sarah MacInnis (vocals, step dance), bandmate Mac Morin (piano), and Matt MacIsaac (pipes, whistle, guitar).
With hundreds of thousands of albums sold, a GRAMMY win, 14 JUNO nominations and four wins, a Canadian Folk Music Award, 21 East Coast Music Awards, five Canadian Country Music Association wins, a GEMINI win, four honorary doctorates, an induction into the Casino Nova Scotia Hall of Fame, an Academy Award-winning documentary, and a Member of the Order of Canada between them — both as solo artists and frequent collaborators — Natalie and Donnell also have seven children who, for their part shine onstage as the MacMaster Leahy Kids.
Tickets for Natalie & Donnell’s streamed celebration for St. Patrick’s Day are $15; the event is recorded and will be available until March, 18th at 11:59 pm EST.
