February 5, 2022 Live Music

ANOTHER evocatively haunting night of musical genius with the one and only, Lukas Rossi. Well into the 3rd millennium, Lukas still exudes addictive adrenaline & I was thrilled to be a part of the impressive audience x’s 2 & responsive energy once again.

I have personally followed Lukas Rossi’s career since 1995 when he fronted Toronto award-winning powerhouse act, Cleavage, into his 2nd act from Montreal, Rise Electric. His infectious spirit engaged fans as they enjoy watching his growth & energetic journey unfold one song at a time. I religiously followed him as he competed & won, Rock Star Supernova in 2006. I continued to venture forth addicted to his inventive sounds while inside bands like Stars Down in 2008, & Daylight Division in 2009. I was attracted to how versatile his guttural baritone stretched upwards of 7 octaves into stratospheric soprano riffs. His natural outstanding aptitude leaves you totally wonderstruck by how he can meld, merge, & indulge so gracefully inside a wide variety of rich & complex collaborations with the creme de la creme of the music realm, exposing his widespan musical flavors. Lukas spread his wings further once again forming Switchblade Glory back in 2011 onto The Halo Method in 2012. His career has inspired so many thanks to his honestly addictive & creatively mesmerizing songwriting process. I was over the moon thrilled & then some, when he joined adaptable forces with our Peterborough music icon, Neil Sanderson, of Three Days Grace, as they creating King City back in 2016,

I relate honestly to a lot of his original material & totally enjoy the compelling releases from 2017’s Stereo Satellite. A personal highlight for me in 2017, was seeing my fiance Kevin, performing bass in a local GTA act, Crossdockers, that rocked the opening spot for Lukas on his Eastern Ontario tour spanning dates from Ottawa to Oshawa. Tonight, Lukas blew my mind, as he reminisced with us about specific Crossdocker instruments & gear that was used on that tour some 5 years ago, a pretty impressive memory Lukas. Also, thanks for sharing the story with your Rossi Posse family about that pivotal memory upon your Ontario tour in 2017, that saw you bring Kevin & Crossdockers on stage with you to perform your hit, Headspin, for a rare 1st time ever live joining of 2 bands perfecting your iconic song. ENJOY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FN2GIk2P-Ag which features the appetizingly flavorful guitar stylings of our very own Matty Shreds!! Excuse my screaming out, ‘I Love You Kevin’ truly my bad. xoxo

I am excited that Lukas is still so spontaneously eager & dedicated to his craft & was a thrill to see him so devoted to fulfilling the hunger of his sea of fans worldwide. I simply adore how Lukas has never been idle since the conception of his career at the age of 19, almost a quarter of a century ago & how he has always remained so deeply involved in 1 musical facet or form right up to the current. He is constantly evolving & sustaining his musical nourishment as an internationally acclaimed, multi-award-winning, Gold and Platinum-selling frontman, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, mixer/master, vocal coach & producer.

After reviewing my 3rd back-to-back Lukas Rossi showcase lately, thus making this my 7th overall LR review, yet, I never run out of positive things to say about his inventive ways.

Friday night was definitely charmingly entertaining, covering all the senses, humor & even a few tears were shed, prayers were asked during this intimate evening, one for the books, as he truly sported his huge heart upon his sleeve striking a chord inside his up close & extremely personal virtual after party with his Rossi Posse fans, he calls family.

He opened up about some pretty sensitive subjects & showed concern for a couple of his biggest fans that are not well at this time. MIght I mention that this superstar is so open, honest, real & raw, down to earth, very compassionate, amiable, hilarious, & oh so caring. His songs are perfectly written & each piece felt like he was singing directly to you, after all, isn’t that what music is all about, am I right? It is all about connecting with your audience as music is meant to reach the hearts & minds of those that are lost in need of direction, the frightened in need of comfort & the confused looking for clarity. Lukas Rossi tunes do just that, they are so cerebral, powerful & that strong healing dose, just what the doctor ordered. He pours his blood sweat & literal tears into every work of art he touches whether it be his unique renditions of cover songs to his entrancing originals, leaving us refreshed, renewed, destressed, totally inspired, & in the rock n roll frame of mind.

Presenting a relentless spirit, a magnetic, innovative, explorative, & eternally explosive storytelling optimism that is driven by his in-depth enigmatic journey. One thing that impresses me about Lukas is his deeply creative & infused words that have the POWER to heal

& he is always at the ready to satisfy with his ultimate ways inside his multidimensional tunes filled with a variety of ultimate thoughts or ideas that are poetic mediation of the interactive process of human nature. Tonight, he wove intricate elements of extraordinary & ultimate stress-relieving displays, easing us out of ourselves even just for one evening, allowing us to come together as one to shed our busy & sometimes complicated skin. Lukas’s one-of-a-kind shows are a much-appreciated space that breaths fresh air during such toxic unprecedented k pandemic times. Thank you for your incorporated art & for elevating us with your distinguished, & uncontainable enthusiasm that has no boundaries. This evening’s expressive performances provided us with essential vitamins & minerals that fueled our vitality totally providing the optimal energy & support that left us mindblown. Thank you so much for another stimulating & introspective Friday night.

I truly look forward to seeing where your absolutely amazing delights take you next, & no doubt it will be laced with your radiantly vibrant charm, your brilliantly empowering & positive vibes, that are blended with your ostentatiously rich & luxuriously creamy life-changing ways. There were many triumphant moments that were undeniably transforming, comforting & I thank you for striking that personal chord with me & including my story briefly inside your private after-party with your awesome & amiable Rossi Posse musical family.

Keep on Rockin in the Free World Lukas, & congratulations on your infectious version of this Neil Young classic that you created a video for in support of your fellow Canadians & truckers that are dealing with some sensitive subjects, only to see it go viral with just shy of 2 million views in under 6 days. Throughout the years of touring, meeting fans, collaborating, and self-reflection, the urge to do more with his music is higher than ever. “Autonomic” is a record influenced by an “Invisible Illness” called Dysautonomia. This is a condition that compromises a person’s nervous system, impacting almost all areas of their body — all the while looking like healthy people. Lukas recently joined Seventy7 Records. The owner, Amanda Nail’s daughter, Lexi Nail (Seen on Autonomic’s album cover) was diagnosed with Dysautonomia as a teenager. Featured artist ‘Matty Shreds’ also suffers from this condition. After learning how crippling this illness is, Lukas took immediate action to help join those raising awareness. In addition, a portion of the album sales will go to Dysautonomia International, a charity that funds research on Dysautonomia and provides resources for people living with the condition.

The record features many great artists: Dave Buckner (Papa Roach), Marcos Curiel (P.O.D.), Matty Shreds, Sunnie Days, (Solo Artists), and Stereo Satellite! This is just the start of many big things to come!

In 2022, huge collaborations are in the works. Lukas Co-Wrote & is being featured on “Three Days Grace” upcoming record “Explosions”. “Autonomic is special. I’ve stayed active throughout the lockdowns and wrote from places inside of me that I haven’t visited in a very long time. This record includes the most personal songs I’ve ever written, some that I’ve been hanging onto for the right moment. That time is now.” – Lukas Rossi .

Be safe and keep the musical faith, Cheers,
